Child Safety

Safeguarding

The safety and welfare of every young person in our care is our highest priority. This page sets out our commitment to safeguarding and what to do if you have a concern.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 immediately. For urgent safeguarding concerns, call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 — available 24/7.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Doing Right Around Care is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for all young people in our home. We believe that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility — from our registered manager and responsible individual through to every member of staff and volunteer who works with us. All staff receive regular safeguarding training and are required to adhere to our safeguarding policy at all times.

Child-Centred

The welfare of the child is always our primary consideration. Every decision we make is guided by what is in the best interests of the young person.

Trained Staff

All staff complete mandatory safeguarding training before working with young people and receive regular refresher training in line with statutory guidance.

Clear Procedures

We have robust, written safeguarding procedures in place. All staff know how to recognise signs of abuse or neglect and how to respond appropriately.

Designated Lead

We have a designated safeguarding lead (DSL) who is responsible for overseeing all safeguarding matters and liaising with external agencies.

How to Report a Concern

If you have a concern about the welfare of a young person — whether they are in our care or not — please do not hesitate to act. You do not need to be certain that abuse is taking place to make a referral. It is always better to raise a concern than to stay silent.
